A Young Fisherman

With your skin dark like the night
Black! But brilliant
On your neck a necklace
It is noticed
On the beach you fish
Without hesitation

You take out a fish
And you kiss it when saving
It in your basket
Where you put dinner
That others will eat

You dress so colorful
That with your dark skin
You enhance the sea

A young man maybe
From Africa or maybe
From another place

In the shore of the beach
He started fishing
Does it so fast
Seems like a lot
Practice you have
And you show it
When taking out each fish
With your fishing rod
Hang the little fish
That in the basket
will stop

Or is it a blessing
From the sky
That from the sea
You take out the fish
For dinner!

Oh young man
With your fishing rod
With your yellow shorts
We see your skin shine

You advance by throwing
The fishing rod!
And happy we see you
Take out the fish
That at dinner you will eat

The waves come and go
The cool breeze is
You hear the sea
And with its peculiar smell
Sand, water and salt
We see the young man fishing
